Some days are easier than others to keep our minds and praise focused on Jesus. Satan loves to keep us distracted and get our minds off of Christ. He not only does this in our personal lives but in our churches as well.
If you have ever been truly connected to a church, I am sure you have witnessed your share of fights, disagreements, and division. I’ve seen big church splits over the simplest of things (the color of the new carpet-and I’m not exaggerating). I can just imagine Satan whispering in one person’s ear and just sitting back with a smile on his face while he watches the chaos and destruction take shape.
The goal of Satan’s distractions is to keep our minds off Christ and on our problems, which will keep us from doing the work of the Lord.
We have to be purposeful to stay focused and united.
2 Chronicles 20:4- So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
2 Chronicles 20:-13- Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the Lord.
All of Judah-All. Judah came before the Lord UNITED. Imagine what God could do if a whole church came to Him in one accord. Imagine the power if you and your whole family came before the Lord in prayer.
So, you may be asking, “What does this have to do with the song above?”
Well, this song is a great reminder to me that God is truly the only thing that matters. It serves as a constant reminder to focus on God ……..AND when I am focused on God, the little distractions and divisions that Satan tries to place in my path do not even cause me to bat an eye.
Of course, the obvious choice would have been Fix My Eyes by King & Country, but I got something else in mind for that one….stay tuned.
The Word of the Day:
Hebrews 12:2 (NKJ)- looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Have a blessed and focused day!
